Papers, ca. 1870-1882.

This collection includes approximately 70 manuscript letters addressed to Frank and Jane Norton, primarily from friends and relatives. Although a few of the letters underscore church business and religious matters, the majority concern personal and family matters. The collection also includes a large number of invoices detailing a wide array of goods and services purchased by the Norton's, such as groceries, clothing, shoes, books, stationary, office supplies, home furnishings, coal, and electricity. Many of the providers of these goods and services were situated in Troy, New York, which indicates the Norton's were living there at the time.
